    Folks,

I will be moving home shortly. I will be taking my Sky Dish and wish to setup / install at new house. Just wondering how best to approach this.

I know that it is easy to get take down but how best do you go to setup correctly at new house. Do I need to contact Sky. Is there a certain method for setting the dish in the correct orientation.:confused:

Unless you have the correct tools (signal meter) it's is very difficult to get a signal on the dish.
If you ring Sky they can do a move house install for €65. You leave the old dish and only bring the box and remote. They install a new dish for you.

Yeah leave the dish. Whoever comes after you might use it And the cost of a new one is faily small

Bring your box and card though

Why not keep the current equipment and do a new install at the new address?
Use your wife/GF's or significant others name and the new address.
That way you get it professionally installed and new equipment and possibly a nice new offer on a sub.

Sounds like a good idea.... Might be the best thing to do. I do want to get Sky+ so I think this makes sense.:) :):):)

when i moved house i took my old box with me and got the sky+ & multiroom deal and paid the installer €30 to connect my old box in another room also. then i got an FTV card on ebay for the spare box

also make sure to use a different account/credit card to pay your sub

Leave the dish behind - I moved house last summer, and Sky charge €60 (I have Sky+), they tell you to being the Box and the remote, and they'll put up new dish / use existing one in your new gaff. Phoned on a Tuesday it was done on a Saturday. Not a single other service you have to change on moving house (phone, ESB, gas, cable company etc) will be as hassle-free. Especially the phone company...do not get me started.
