I mostly play at FTP and Tribeca but even between those two sites there is a vast difference in quality of players at the .25/.50 and .50/1 levels. For those of you that have played at other sites would you recommend them and which do you believe have the softest tables?

In particular I'd be interesting in information you have on
    Ultimatebet
    Absolute
    Party
    Pokerstars

Not just for cash game but also for SNGs and MTTs.

Also, to the cash games experts here, HJ, N'OD, fuzzbox et al. is it better to play full ring or 6 max when finding your feet in cash games, or is the answer as with everything "it depends"

To be honest I've had a tough couple of months where I'm struggling with much of my play across the board, although I'm still postive each of those months it's nothing near where I should be. I'll mostly be reading and reviewing my PT stats for the next few weeks before hopefully turning it around, and any information concerning sites or game types would be appreciated.

Crypto is absolute rock city at .50/1 nl 6 handed. full of good scandies who can lay down TPTK when they need to. Hard enough to stack people as a result with sets etc. Compared to Tribeca i would avoid crypto, i only play for rakeback/bonuses

Full Tilt 0.25/0.50 and 0.50/1 are ubersoft and on a par with Tribeca. $1/$2 on Full Tilt is a different ballgame. I wouldnt go near any of those tables anymore. I broke even in 1k hands on FT at that level.

Tribeca, the $1/$2 tables are ridiculously soft.

$2/$4 is a step up. Ive played 2 winning sessions on Tribeca, but the standard is generally higher and table selection is far more improtant (note the same is true for $1/$2 as there are a few players there that I know to avoid).

I've played $1/$2 - $5/$10 on Full Tilt and would recommend avoiding all these levels like the plague.

The only other site I've played 0.50/1 cash on is Bodog and I though the standard was as bad if not worse than Tribeca.

I plan on trying out Vegas Baby this week.

Also, i've never played full ring online. I started playing 6-handed and still do. Dont intend on trying full ring anytime soon.

Play at Culchie's site Vegas Baby Poker, you will never find worse cash players, the $500 buy in table plays at about the level of a $1/$2 table elsewhere so I shudder to think what a 25c/50c table plays like, though I have been at a .50c/$1 table there and no-one knows how to play the game in the least bit at that level there.
There no no question that if you are ony finding your feet in cash games that full ring is the way to go. A decision to move to 6 handed should then depend on your style, if you are an active and aggressive bettor then short handed is for you, if you are conservative then you are likely to do better at full handed games.
