It's been bucketing down over there the last few days. We've found in recent years that Cheltenham drains well and rarely a meeting goes by where the word good is not somewhere in the going description.

It's good, good to soft in places. From the forecast I can't see any major changes in the going of the next few days.

And for the novices in here this is particulary good news for which horses??

That's a very general question. Are there any you are particularly interested in? It actually going to be probably in between what a lot of horses would ideally like, you have those that would like good ground and does that want it heavy so it should be reasonably suitable for everybody.

With it impossible to know how much rain will fall in the next few days trying to predict the going is difficult, I doubt it will change too much though.

If the ground came up soft:Quatre Heures in the supreme novices
Zaiyad in the r&s alliance hurdle
Voy Por Ustedes in the arkle
The listener in the r&s alliance chase
Asian Maze in the champion hurdle
Beef or Salmon&Forget The Past in the gold cup

there are many more that would be suited by soft going but those would be of most interest to me with Asian Maze and Beef or Salmon being my least likely winners

I think that the wet ground will suit Hedgehunter way more than Beef or Salmon. Let it team down

The softer the better for hedgehunter, more of a stamina test but whether it'll siut him more than Beef or Salmon i'm not so sure,i think Beef or Salmon NEEDS soft ground to show his true ability, past runs at cheltenham have been onfast ground, which i think is the reason he tends to jump poorly and get outpaced around there, with soft ground he undoubtadly jumps and races better,im not a big fan of Beef or Salmon to be honest but if the ground did come up soft i cant see hedge hunter reversing places with him,nor any horse beat him in what looks a very poor gold cup
