Impressed by Franklin

    Hey folks,

just thought i would put my thoughts out there and see what some of your guys felt. I was genuinely impressed by Rich at UFC:58. He didn't seem to be showing any fear of The Crows kicks and was more than willing to land some vicious ones himself.

All in all, i thought he controlled the fight perfectly, has his opponent on the back foot a lot of the time, and fought on through a broken a hand and what would later be revealed as a broken foot.

I really thought that Quarry was offered up to early and got put down for his trouble, but this title defence was very, very impressive.

    What do you guys think?

I'm no fan of Franklins, when people were raving about his perofrmance against Tanner I was amazed. It was just a really bad boxing match. But yeah having watched that fight I thought he was pretty good. But then I don't think Louiseau is up to much either;)

I think Louiseau earned a degree of his rep due to his elbows being pretty dangerous, and of course those kicks!!! All in all though, he is not really a hugely well rounded fighter and i think the match he just lost proves it.

The reason i think Franklin was always going to be a champ is his ability to control a fight and keep it where he wants it. Sometimes his style can be a bit scrappy and open but the guys head and foot movement is very respectable, and when it comes to fitness and conditioning he is a machine.

Also i think he is a champ who will only get better with time.

Just like you said Roper, was never really impressed until Sunday.

Have to say Franklin was very impressive but Louiseau looked out of sorts most of the match, except for a few brief seconds in the third round.

Not a Franklin fan either tbh but his control throughout the match was superb. It was a good fight.
