I've been thinking of getting an external hard drive for my PC but any I've seen are USB2

Just wondering will these work with a USB1.1 port. (I know transfer speed would be drastically reduced)

Yes, they'll work, but as you say, at a reduced speed.

You could get a USB 2.0 PCI expansion card for your PC, if you need the speed of USB 2.0.

    This one is €15 - http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=302363

I got one of those USB 2.0 PCI cards off ebay for €5 + €2 for delivery :)
Used it to connect an 802.11g wireless usb card to an old PC.
