You are all going to LOVE this one... it's being doing my head in.

Here's the background:
Server, running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, 2 SATA Hard Drives, 2 IDE. OS has gone to sh*t, so move everything I need off OS drive (80GB, SATA) to storage drive (300GB, SATA).
Go to Windows setup, format OS drive, make new 10GB partition for OS, install. Boot system.

Here's the problem:
Other (300GB) SATA doesn't show up as drive. Is recognised by BIOS, and installed properly in Device Manager. Go to Disk Management, The other one is a "GPT PROTECTIVE PARTITION", with 100% free space, and no option to mount to a drive letter, format, or even view it's properties. See screenshot:


Anyone have any clue as to how to get this back?

I did a bit of research on GPT, it seems as though it's a replacement to MBR, and it is used in 64-bit Windows. This is a 32-bit machine, and a 32-bit OS disc. I'm confused.

OK, further to this, and odd again, the Disk Properties pane shows the partition style as MBR, though disk management is reporting it as GPT.
