how do i go about getting this working again, every where i looks is offering a deal where they fit the dish and box, but i just want an account set up

their website is no help either, it just tells me how much the packages cost

just go for the deal where they fit the dish and box, believe me the installer will be more then pleased the dish is already there. Hide the original box and get a new one from them , you can use this elsewhere in the house by adding a quad lnb to your dish.

You can, if you want, ring Sky and request a "Second Hand Contract" which is a contract for people with existing equipment.

However, I agree with Tony's method, and get yourself a free new box, plus first three months half price! ;)

Excuse my ignorance but what is a Quad?

A quad LNB is basically an LNB (thing at the end of a dish that the cable goes into) that can run up to 4 receivers. It has 4 outputs, thus the name Quad. Octo LNB, as name suggests, can feed up to 8 receivers.
