Nonsense Prohibitions

Two weekends ago I went to Bray, for a little fresh air (was freezing actually).
The prohibition of removing stones from the beach almost push me to take one :D

Seriusly some prohibitions seems to push to people to break them. I'd never think of taking a stone of those with me...

if you were to take a bag of pebbles from another beach to bray, how do they prove you had them when you arrived?

That chap looks fairly shifty. I'd say he's going to stuff his pockets with stones and sell them on the black market.

It not about taking a stone, its about folks loading up a trailer load to finsh off a patio or whatever. But the sign does look a bit silly. Damn stone taking prohibition, might have to set up some sort of stone taking speakeasy of some sort:D

Well, I'm not sure of the details, but as far as I know a few years ago, an awful lot of money was spent on putting said pebbles on the beach at Bray to stop erosion, so I guess they don't want people (like Dundhoone said) carting away trailer loads for their patios. I seem to remember seeing someting in the local rag recently that they were thinking of adding some more in certain places where they'd 'disappeared'.

    Its a serious problem folks,
I know that in the West that people have been wrecking local strands by removing lorryloads of stone that end up in garden centres where they are sold at great profit

This thread will probably get moved or locked, but do any of you feel utterly compelled to start a 'Save the Stones' campaign?;)

    Why?

I posted a photo titled "Nonsense Prohibitions" in a Photography Forum. I don't see what's wrong with that...

Nothing wrong with the pic my friend, I just think that the merits of rock stealing/protection would be best discussed in another forum.
