Guys i have a couple of sets of speakers and about 3 subwoofers.
Was wondering if in settin up a larger speaker system that just stereo can i hook up 2 speakers and a sub for each channel?

I presume it would be ok since the output for lets say left sends a signal to sub which then divides it into bass etc?

Generally, either the speakers run from the sub or the sub has a connection of its own.
rather than running the subs off the same connections as the speakers, run them off a dedicated sub link. Two or more off one link is still not ideal, you have to make sure the system / amp can give that much power, but it's better than putting them off the speaker connections.
Ideally, you should have a separate amp for this sort of thing, but if its not an option, try the method I suggested. Do not, however, run it at high volume. The excess power required by the subs may short the system.
Best of luck, let me know how it workds out:D
