Yes, if you're touched in the head. More will be released in the coming months, I'd put all my earthly goods (PSP/phone/iPod/tv/pc/legs) on it.

Your friend sounds like an asshole btw.

I read this in two ways.

    1) "My friend" is planning to sell tickets. Can I (oops - sorry I meant "he ... ) get this asking price off people on boards.ie

    2) If he can get that much, I want to get that much ...

Then why are you asking? What's it matter unless you're one of the poor sods trying to get a ticket and being fleeced by scum?

Tell your mate that he's a complete cunt unless he does the right thing and sell them for face value.

I hate tout's. I thought the max amount of tickets you could buy for oxegen was 8 anyway. Touts just ruin festivals cos they prevent ppl who wanna go from going and if they don't sell all their tickets then some just get wasted. Your "friend" is a dick. Whoever buys tickets they don't intend on using is evil. I hope to god they release more tickets. Although ticketmaster and the oxegen site say its sold out. I don't understand how 70,000 tickets sold out in 12 hours since I couldnt name you 1 person I know who has one. Although apparently alot of ppl from Britain bought them cos Glastonbury isnt on this year. BOO! I want a ticket but not from a blood suckin tout!!!

there wouldn't be any touts if there weren't gob****es ready and waiting to pay the prices..

Listen up people, if you're smart you'll get yourselves some tickets for the bigger events, it's not that hard. If you want to go THAT much that you'll pay tout prices, then you should have bought them the second they went on sale. If you weren't arsed to buy the tickets, then tough ****...

I don't hate touters, if anything they're just trying to make some cash, who can blame em? Again, if people are willing to pay then that's their problem..

But my main point again, if you want to go, buy tickets straight away!

I know i'm gonna get slated for this btw!:)

i agree completely, it is a case supply and demand. and if people are stupid enough to pay these prices then let them...

btw why does no-one ever give out about rugby clubs who buy international tickets for face price and sell them off for big profit.

if someone is in a position to make some cash off the stupid people in the world then let them at it.

touts are scumbags many's the time i've had a spare ticket and sold it to someone who was about to buy from a tout and sold it for face value just to piss off the tout.:D

€300 is Absolutly rimming to be fair. In reality if i went off and invested €1600 on 10 tickets i would expect to make a small profit, I think to sell them for a profit €20 each which gives "your friend" €200. I think most people would consider that acceptable. Can you tell "your friend" i have "a friend" that would take 3 of them €180 each.

And............ the oxegen touting begins. Boards.ie should shut down posting in the for sale / wanted and gigs/events boards for people with posts counts below some arbitary number (say 20) from now until oxegen because EVERY year its just new regs coming in touting / offering money for tickets and banning does **** all to deter them.

You'd have a fair point if the market wasn't open to the distortion of, oh lemme see, the friggin' touts buggering up both sides of the supply/demand equation in the first place.

In other words - they work in well organised groups to get as many tickets as possible when trading commences which affects the supply such that when supply is exhausted, there is demand over and above what would be normal were they not in the equation at all...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,144 ✭✭✭LundiMardi

so if the touts can get dozens of tickets at a time, how come Joe Soap can't get 2?

I see what you mean, but it's still not hard to get tickets if you really want em.

Exactly! You can say there wouldnt be touts if there werent gob sh*tes who are willing to pay them but they wouldnt be paying them if there werent gob sh*tes exploiting the market! I can see how if some one really wanted to go they'd pay more then face value but asking 300 euro for a ticket is really unfair.

Yeah everyone knew about the presales and they were selling them the day after the end of oxegen 2005 last year but not everyone had the money handy as said times to get them. Thats why so many ppl don't have them.

Either way there'll be lotsa tickets circulating in the next few months cos ppl will end up not bein able to go and they'll be selling them at face value. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it tout's! :)

Its the same every year, tickets are sold in blocks, there are at least 1 block of tickets left to be sold.

Same retards every year causing the hysteria and buying the tickets at silly prices.

Gotta agree with you there, it's a simple case of supply and demand. It happens all the time in life, don't know why people get their knickers in such a twist when it happens with concert tickets. I think the people who give out are the ones who didn't get off their lazy arses and get the tickets themselves. I have managed to get tickets to any of the popular concerts I ever wanted to go to (including U2 in Slane and Croker), it's not that difficult.

Good argument. You're a complete fool.

Btw I can't believe you're all using your time and energy to humour this scumbag and his touting peers with such long posts. The point is, touts are absolute little sh1ts. Besides everything else, they take the fun out of the arts world for its fans. Pure a-holes and should all be fined and/or sentenced.
