need info - J1 to San Diego

    Hi guys, looking for some help from you all...my sister and cousin are heading to San Diego on a J1 for the summer but have no clue how to go about getting a job and accommodation. they have just decided upon san diego but know nothing about the whole thing other than that! all help/advice appreciated

    http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ for both jobs and accommodation.

    Also, look for accommodation around colleges especially the frat houses as the college students go home for the summer. Give Seaworld a ring, I believe they employ a huge amount of J1 students down there. Maybe the zoo might be worth a go to?

    dont bother with the colleges in SD there in crap locations head to PB youll adventiually pick up something just budget and be prepared for a week or two of slumming it on peoples floors or in the hostel ( banana bunglow)

    Yeah I wasn't sure about the colleges, just thats what lots of people do when they go to San Fran. They stay in the frat houses in Berkeley. Thought it might be similar in San Diego. Fair enough anyway!

    PB pacific beach/mission beach
    OB ocean beach

    possibly the only two places worth living in in SD and even at that OB is a bit of a dump
