    Yer wan from Galway-great performer...

Why do every male act in the show wear jeans and blazers a la Mickey Harte? Sometimes even with a big guitar medallion hanging off 'em...

    Sheep, one and all...

What Garbage RTE has presented again. The clear person for the title was Marilyn Ban, €155 License fee for this thrash ontop off over €500 to Sky to view the bloody thing. RTE has sunk to a new low.

I hadn't heard tonight's show apart from Lucia singing her winning song again, but I thought from the start she should win. Marilyn was about equal though. I hope she gets somewhere with her singing.

    the galway lass?
delighted, the lads were good too but they really reminded me of journey south from the english version

I thought they were awful then, and so did herself. We have better performers in any pub here in the Costa Del Youghal any weekend night IMHO.

The auidence are such geeks bopping around to that crap and their all like nearly in tears everytime one of them sings. I think that's hilarious. :D

Who are these performers in Youghal Roundy?
Why did they not enter ?

Local connections, and caffeine fuelled teenyboppers mainly. Derek Mooney is more of a ringmaster than a presenter on that show...

I don't know, Bishop, you'd have to ask them. My opinion is simply that, the Sullivans are nice lads, hard working no doubt, but merely pub singers, as was Mickey Harte for that matter. There are a couple of excellent bands knocking around here, as I'm sure there are in most towns up and down the country, I can name at least three that would eclipse the aforementioned lads in both talent and stage craft. Unusual as it may be for shows like You're A Star, the best performer won out. Even more surprising in that such shows are more about how many local schoolkids you can get to vote for you than genuine talent.

Well, if you're visiting, look out for The Gate on the Main St. It can be a bit hit and miss with the music sometimes, but generally, when the music is good there, it's very good. The Quays down on the quays, funnily enough, has had a couple of good 5 piece blues bands there lately. Finally, if you don't mind a few flying bottles, Maggie May's, (used to be The Porter House) again on the Main St., has good Irish ballad type stuff on occasion, just avoid it if you hear a D.J. roaring as you enter...

I'm surprised Lucia won. She has a good voice, but nothing special. I guarantee she'll get to number 5 in the charts (if she's lucky) and then fade into oblivion. And I don't know how those two tossers managed to come second. Marilyn should have won. Either her or that blonde one from Cork.

Well justice was done...Lucia won. That girl's got da soul!!!:D The Sulivan Brothers IMO were just pub singers. See yiz down my local lads! The thing about these kind of shows is that the people who happen to be the last say maybe 3 contestants usually go on to release music anyway because of the exposure they receive on TV.

The Sullivans are actually really good in the pub.

Also, rumour has it they're goin on tour with westlife for 8 weeks

i doubt any of them would even get through american idol or uk idol at all!. Th esullivan bros are only mediorce pub singers. maylin I loved the rock song she sang but sadly everything else sounded the same. lucia clearly had the best voice but I felt she had not as great stage presence as Marylin - she seemed to emotionless and it seemed all to be an effort but marylin made it look easy

I thought that too, and so it seems did Linda Martin, so there's hope for her yet. I thought Jeanette whatsherface was an idiot, although strangely sexy in her stage gear. Pity she had to ruin her big chance by acting the tit...
