..Soooo i got down to doing some Calculus & stats study this weekend before my MCQ on monday to realise that i have absolutely no idea wtf anything means or why it does what it does.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a place on campus thats good for giving advice about grinds and such as i desperately need them for this module (my only blessing is that tomorrows exam isnt negatively marked so im bound to get a few right from random rickage ). Obviossly this means im gonna need a very good mark in my summer exams (or auguest repeats) so thought i'd better bite the bullet and look for some grinds.
Im gonna email the CS advisor (Owen Fallon?) tommorrow to see what he suggests but thought i'd ask the experienced peeps here as well.

    Cheers for any info/suggestions.

Well if you've got any particular questions post them up here, there's a few people on here who would probably be able to help you.

    What year are you in?

you can post any calculus here and i can certainly help you, stats i can have a go at but there's probably a few ppl here better than me at it.

there's also a Maths and Engineering forums under the 'Sci' section - you could also try there.

cheers for offer folks but its really not any one thing..more the whole bloody course. I just need someone to sit down with me and go through it step by step. I was able to muddle through last semester but this lecturers notes aren't as good as last semesters (imo) and am having major problems.

I'll see what Owen Fallon suggests (am in 1st year btw).

yeah rainbow-kirby, you're in eng, aren't you? Wanna give me grinds on my second year probability + mechanics?
    ....anyone?

Me = Comp Sci. But I've passed courses in probability and mechanics back in the dim and (relatively) recent past so if you've got questions post them up here and I'll see what I can do.

Unfortunately, it is true. I told two of the postgrads about it and they closed it for a while, but now it's back open. There's really not much else I can do bar emailing Fintan, which I might at some stage if I'm arsed.

arsed ... as in at the end of the semester after we somehow get 100% in all our practicals? :)

    Of course :D

Less of the talk and more of the linkage to said page.

If it isn't just some fantastic myth borne out of a desperation to pass Intro to Prog 2. Which the case may be.

    We demand evidence!

    (Please?)
