I am going to buy a Canon pixma ip4200 printer.
I was looking around to see if it was possible to get compatable cartridges or refill for this printer, but didn't have much luck.

Does anyone know where I could get these or even if it is possible.

It's not really worth your while messin with refills and compatables with these printers as the ink lasts ages. It has 5 ink tanks so you'll only need to replace which ever one runs out. This works out alot cheaper than the normal 2 cartridge printer and their only €13 each. I have a similiar model (ip3000) for over a year and only now the magenta needs replacing. Thats with a good amount of printing of photos, cd's and normal paper.
BTW if you're buying CD/DVD's for printing, I found the Verbatim discs gives the best results.

You obviously do very little printing.
    I have a Pixma 3000 too and I use a set every 2 weeks.
The 4200 is a new printer and uses chipped cartridges unlike the previous 3000 and 4000 models.
Unfortunately there are no compatibles available for the 4200 yet and it is a tough one to refill as the cartridges have level indicators which can void the warranty.
Try to pick up a Pixma 3000/4000 if possible.
There will be compatibles for the 4200 in the next few months though.

    http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/Canon-Compatible-Ink-Cartridges-c-259.html

Shipping is about €20 flat rate so buy in bulk.

    And what's a chip resetter?

Doesn't do the ip 4200, found some on ebay which will do until compatables are available (soon I hope).
I'm still tempted with the ip4200, 9600 x 2400 dpi is just to good to resist, and I have yet to read a bad review for this.

A chip resetter is a device which erases the memory of a cartridge chip which has been refilled as so when it is put back into the printer it is thought to be a new original cartridge (and the settings such as ink levels etc return to normal).
