Are there any taxi drivers on boards.ie?
I see on after hours http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054898183&highlight=taxi
that they may not be the most popular workers around here.
I would like to know if it is possible to get into taxi driving while retaining your decency and sanity and to offer the paying customer a good service.
Maybe at some stage in the future some of us might like to be self employed and to my mind this seems a good route to becoming your own boss.

    1. Do you know how to run the country?
    2. Do you know the best way to manage the Irish football team?
    3. Are you the best driver in the world?
    4. Can you turn at junctions without using indicators?
    5. Can you perform U- turns where they are prohibited?
    6. When you get lost, do you blame everyone else?
    7. Do you drive in almost complete darkness with just your parking lights on?
    8. Do you drive in bright sunshine with your front fogs on?
    9. Could you spend 2 hours queueing in the pound at Dublin Airport and then abuse a potential customer because they have the audacity to want to go to Swords?
    10. Could you live with having "the worst job in the world"?

If you can answer "yes" to most of the above, you would make a good taxi driver. :D Go for it!

I can answer the questions as follows:
    1. No interest in politics
    2. No interest in sport
    3. No
    4. Sometimes
    5. If necessitated by being followed
    6. I use a map
    7. Only use parking lights when parked
    8. Only when it is foggy as well
    9. I would prefer not to abuse customers
    10. Sometimes I think I do

Are there any members of boards who have personal experience of driving taxis? What I would like to know is if it is a job they would recommend i.e. the pluses and minuses etc.
