    Hi,

Anyboby know if possible to connect a console or TV to an LCD screen, its got a DVI and a VGA connector or would I need to get a TV card and connect through that. All info I've found so far is pretty inconclusive or seems very dodgy technically.

    Is it a xbox1 or 360?

I use a vd0z3 vga converter to output from my xbox1 to a lcd monitor.

To connect a console to your computer could be done rather like connecting a camera to your computer. If your computer has a scart port, then use that, as it would be the fastest. If it doesn't, use the coloured cables (known as Left, Right and Composite).

Usually computers have a composite in on the front of the computer, but it might be at the back. It is a wee yellow circle, if that helps ;) It would usually be beside a red and white port as well

Now, if you want sound plug the red lead into the red port and the white lead into the white port

Now you should be able to view your XBOX in Windows Movie maker or something

There are other ways but this way would be the simplest

Without using a computer the best way would be to use an unofficial VGA converter (if this is an original Xbox the X360 has its own official VGA cable) like some of these, the quality of the picture outputted on the monitor is also dependant on the input so try use at least S-video, scart or component otherwise it will degrade the picture quality.

Best case scenario this VGA box plus this component cable for the Xbox will give the best picture quality on the monitor.

    Thanks lads,

Ye've given me loads to look into, its an Xbox 1 with XBMC on it, I bought a new Samsung syncmaster 930bf (I really recommend it by the way) and I was hoping to use it and lose the TV from my study ( by study I mean box room :))

Zabbo hopw do you find the adapter you bought? I'd rather buy one recommended by a board member than just chance it.

    Thanks Again
