    Hi,
Recently my 17" Dell FP Monitor went on the blink, by that i mean I turned on the computer and nothing showed on screen excpept a full white screen. The power button light went green and then went to a slow flashing orange. I connected a different monitor and that worked fine, reconnected the FP but still the same. I dont get any error not even "no OSD" if I disconnect from the computer, is it totally bunched? I bought it Dec 2002 and the warranty was for a year. Any ideas?

Is this the first time you tried that screen on the computer or has it been working alright for a while, and the white screen just started now?

    Hi,

The monitor was working perfectly for almost 3 years and for no apparent reason gave up the ghost.

Try the monitor on a different pc. Also does the GFX card have both VGA and DVI? If so try the screen on whichever you where not using, so if you where using VGA get an adapter and try the screen with the DVI.

My Philips LCD did the same after about a year and a half of use (though, I think it was a display model in Harvey Normans, when I got it, based on the packaging and finger marks on the screen and the high-pitched noise it used to make :(). Philips replaced it no problem (Harveys wouldn't...).

It might be worth contacting Dell to see where you stand.

It only has the VGA connecter, does anyone know the cause? - I heard somewhere that it might have something to do with the small cable that runs from the power buttons etc. to the board inside but this could be wrong.
