Myself and a mate were thinking of fecking off for a few days in Barca in the next couple of weeks. We're on a tight enough budget so suggestions are welcome ;)

ryanair to salou, then the train/bus to barca. there's loads of hostels in barca, just do a hostel search on hostelworld.com or something similar.
get a sightseeing bus ticket. its €27 for the day but well worth it, goes to all the major attractions and there's 3 different routes, which the one ticket covers.

Just back since Friday! Some city, I didn't want to come home at all, flew with Ryanair to Girona - €35.00 each, took Barcelona Bus from the airport into the city - 1hour & 10 mins drive €19.00 each, we then took the metro to our hotel - this was only €6.00 for a two day pass which is pretty good cause it goes everywhere. We stayed at Hotel Ronda Apsis just off the top of La Ramblas - excellant hotel, right in the middle of everything.

Strongly recommend this hotel for accommodation. Within 100 metres of Las Ramblas etc. Clean & very good value.
