Do you confirm flights?

I booked a flight to Sydney a couple of months ago with ebookers.ie.
For some reason I read the small print. Dunno why, never do.
Anyway, they advise calling each airline you are traveling with and confirm that you are still flying. This should be done a few days or before you depart.

    Does anyone ever call?

Few bother but i often do especially for long haul flights (normally the day before) in case there's any anticipated delays/cancellations/strikes etc. etc.

Twice this has proved very handy, once it saved me about 10 hours sitting around in the airport and another time i got a reroute via Paris due to trouble in Heathrow.

Yep, always reconfirm long-haul flights 48 hours pre-travel, just in case of changes/alterations. If you fail to do this & miss your flight as a result... the airlines take the position that it's your own fault.

Hmmm... Might be best to give them a call a few days before I leave then.

I rarely confirm flights, even the many long haul ones ive been on. It always says theres no need to confirm them on the website, but confirming is a good idea.

Definately for long haul flights. You used to have to confirm for short flights a few years ago but that isn't the case with most airlines now. I almost lost my seat on a paris to dublin flight years ago because i hadn't confirmed!

Depends on how long you book beforehand. If you booked over 90 days ago (or somthing like that) I'd give them a quick call to check there'd been no changes.
