Went to see it yesterday and i have to say i enjoyed it from beginning to end, great film and one that made me laugh out loud in some parts. But ive been seeing Irish reviews of it and all sorts of opinions and people have been calling it a pile of sh*te and an awful film.

Is this one of those films that divides people or have i lost my taste in films?

No, not really... i just found it odd, i usually think that Irish reviewers get it spot on...

Any other opinions on the film rather than ones on my non-existent infallibility :v: :v:

Just Friends was another movie in recent memory that the critics f*cked up on.

About 50% of movie critics don't attend all screenings... sad fact.

Just back from watching this and I must say that I really enjoyed it. The acting was quite good and I feel it was casted perfectly. Quite a long film, it did drag a bit in the middle however it all ended up tieing together and the conclusion was not what I expected at all.

Having heard nothing about the film before I went in with no expectations and was quite pleased with what I saw. Lucy Liu was extremely good aswell, probably one of her best films. Overall I would give it an 8/10. Enjoyable.

Saw it Friday, absolutely fantastic film, not the greatest film I've ever seen, but definately the one with the biggest "Wow, that was a hell of a film" factor when considering the expectations I had of it.

I was the same. I hadn't read a single review or even checked it up on IMDB. I only saw the trailer. We went to see it because it looked entertaining and there was nothing else worth watching on (that we hadn't seen already).

This happens from time to time. Personally I think it's often related to the actors in a film. Some people just don't like Josh Hartnett for instance. It's the same thing that happened with Butterfly Effect, if you were to believe all the reviews you'd think it's one of the worst films ever made, but I enjoyed that too. I think a lot of reviewers didn't like it because of Ashton Kutcher (I'm not very fond of the man myself, but I enjoyed that film).

On that point I usually dislike Hartnett but he's really changed alot recently physically. I don't know if he's bulked up or whatever, but the young boyish look is gone and with it I found the dislike I harboured is also gone.

I've always liked Hartnett. He just hasn't had too many good roles go his way. He was decent in The Faculty and The Virgin Suicides. Pearl Harbour and 40 Days 40 Nights really hurt his image... You should check out Wicker Park, a decent film with a good performance from Hartnett.

Excellent movie with a truely great ending. I didnt know much about the movie at all, it was the great cast that attracted me to it because nothing else was on that I wanted to see. It had some ver funny moments in the middle which I liked. You were always wondering just what the hell was going on until the final twenty minutes when you just go WOW.

Ver good acting all round, Hartnett really surprised me with how good his performance was.

    8/10 for me
