In the slim chance that someone else here has a dreambox and a modded xbox with xbox media center. Has anyone that uses the python script on that xbox that lets you control the dreambox, record to xbox etc - being able to see/watch what files you have recorded on the dreambox HD from the xbox?

YES! :) works well enough with my 5620, usual buffering issues but that is due to my network setup etc, people report it working well on 500 and 7*** series. I didnt try recording with it but the interface is nice and handy.

I think you misunderstood me or I explained it wrong, unless u connected a HD to your 5620 somehow ;) , I have the 7000s with a HD. I mean lets say i record match of the day onto dreambox HD, I want to be able to watch that on my xbox by streaming it to the xbox from dreambox. I can stream live pictures fine just not stuff I have recorded, as the stuff I recorded doesnt show up when i go to datavcr. It can be done with samba aswell but that doesnt seem to work on my dreambox for some reason. The live streaming is perfect just would be cool to be able to watch recorded movies aswell.

I was referring to the viewing of live pictures. Unless you can find a way to share the hdd in the dreambox via samba and then access it through xbmc / video and choose the appropiate type of "folder" tis the only way I know of :/

Is a video cable not simpler? Then you can play games on the Xbox :)

got samba up and running, watty its handy if you have your dreambox is in another room. Have got an xbox/xbmc tvguide working with the dreambox, so i can pick a show on bbc1 etc and select an option record with dreambox. Then when i want to watch it and someone else is watching the dreambox, I just have to samba into dreambox and select that programme and it streams to my xbox :)
