In a blatant rip off of the boards writing a TN article (and a rip off of my post on the tcdsu site), anyone want to have a go at the wording and/or thrust of this motion :

    STUPID Act
full title: STudent Union People In Drag Act

    Council notes:
The overwhelmingly immense respect shown by the student population towards SU council members.
    Council decrees:
That members may be addressed as "My Lord", "Your Excellency", "Your Grace", "Your Honour" etc.
    Council proclaims:
That members may wear any gown, dress, costume, suit, overall, cape, with accompannying accecory, as they see fit at
    Council orders:
That a prize not less than the value 3 pints of ale and not more than the value of 6 pints of ale in the Buttery bar shall be awarded to that member of council sporting the finest apparel

Ronan Hodson's leagues ahead of the rest of us in terms of style. It's not really fair at all.

I was thinking that myself, we shall have to impeach him for anyone else to stand a chance.

Wigs on heads (not penis heads either - dirty minded people!) Syphilis causes your hair to fall out.

i know that no-one is really considering putting this in - but, just in case, i think the wands and sceptres committee is probably enough jokes for this year...

Maybe this energy should be challenged into the foundation of the Trinity Knowledge society? Robes could be worn at the meetings.

Any-hoo, quorum would be needed at SU council for the motion to pass/fail.

    Odi profanum quorum

It's the Trinity College Knowledge Society, and, yes, robes might be compulsory for the Council Trinity of that society. What do you think, Enda? Feel like doffing your hat to the Provost...?

As a member and proposer of the wands and sceptres committee, i take offense at that!

also yeah, too many joke motions spoil the broth. Its grand for the SU to turn around to laugh at itself once in a while, but it needs to be serious sometimes.

Now if i'd REALLY been thinking about it, i'dve tried to get a USI wands and sceptres motion going :D
