What to do with salvaged PC?

So I'm working in the stores today and ask the store guy what the pile of computer parts is all about - "Ah we're throwing them out on Monday, grab anything you want".

So I salvaged this (monitor, keyboard, mouse and all):
    AMD 2600+
    nForce2 Ultra
    512MB RAM
    Radeon 7000
37GB HDD (the master/slave was set wrong was all).
and Win XP Pro and Office (although I really shouldn't use 'em).

So what to do with it? It's too sh*ty for games and the graphics port looks (old) PCI.
I have a 3meg/384Kb broadband connection so I was thinking a linux server of some kind.
But I don't know how compatible those parts are with linux (especially with built in ethernet port).
I did salvage a cable/RJ45 NIC but I'd be surprised it it works.

    Any ideas?

That's actually a pretty decent spec for a freebee, and something that could be (to a degree) upgraded to be something half decent. I just rebuilt my old games machine about 3 weeks ago, and it was running a 2400+. You will have no problem running this as a server under either Linux or Windows if setup correctly.

Wahay, it's actually AGP! Definatly upgradeable. :D Smack in a 6200 or 9600XT and 512RAM and i'm laughing. Too good for linux ;)

There was another tower with the same spec minus the HDD. I shoulda taken that too :(
