Heading there for the 1st time in April and looking for small stakes cash games (probably 1-2 NL if poss.) and also decent tournies with plenty of runners, maybe 50-100 F.O. type structure.

    Any advice much appreciated.

These are the ones I played in a year ago.

The Plaza : An easy enough game. A mixture of grinding locals and drunk tourists. Games generally only start from 4-5pm onwards though, limit is far more popular in the cardroom

Binion's : To be avoided imo. The vast majority of players at the table during the day are very good, there just aren't enough bad players to warrant playing here. To be fair, I only played there during the day so night time might be a different story.

The Luxor : Only played one evening session here. Terrible atmosphere, one of those 1-1-3 structures with an initial max buy-in, full of young rocks patting each other on the back for folding KJo to a raise.

Bally's : I didn't play here but my friends who did had nothing but good things to say about the game, loose players with lots of money. I did eat in Bally's though and it was the only palatable food I got in a casino over there which is a bonus if you're going to be playing extended sessions.

I like the cash games at the MGM (new poker room and very soft) and the Aladdin (mix of pros and tourist). Both have 1/2 and 2/4 and 5/10 games nl and limited.

    Stay away from the Luxor.

Also check out the room in the Bellagio, worth the money to see it, but very good players.

Harrahs has a 1/2 NL game with a min buyin of 60 and a max of 120. The small rebuy tournaments are bad value everywhere from what I could see with as much reg taken as possible ie extra 10$ for 50% extra chips which all goes to reg.

MGM is great. Nice surroundings 1/2 NL game is good. And a daily tournament at 11am for $65.
    Luxor , IMHO was awful.
Caesars new room is very nice. Games were kind 1/2 NL, 100min and 500 max buyin.
Excalibur, not as swanky but have a 1/3 NL game 200 max buy in and the cocktail girl comes around every 15 mins.
Bellagio have 2/5 lots of ipods and white phil ivey's..Play was looser and a little more aggressive.

    cheers Lads,

that gives me some idea anyway although I think the best advice I got was to drink less and stay away from roulette and craps!

although where's the fun in that....:)
