Setting default applications in OS X?

    Folks,
    How do you set the default application per filetype in OS X?
    For example, making PDFs open with Acrobat rather than Preview when double clicked?

    I can't remember the place that you do it like the old file preference thing in OS9 but you can right click it and open with - and mark the always use this checkbox. I'm 99% sure you can do that, just like on windows.

    select the file,

    press apple key + I OR
    click File > Get Info (opens Info)

    change under 'opens with'
