A few questions that i cant really find the answers to on their website
Do u need to leave ur pc on all the time to receive calls?
What kind of number do they give u, is its a local number ie 01-8223344 for a dublin number?
Im using Skype out on NTL broadband and its great i have to say, have family and friends scattered around the globe so i love it.
Any info/feedback is appreciated.

SkypeIn doesn't do Irish numbers. They have a voicemail service that will pick up any missed calls.

There are a few Irish VoIP providers that do free numbers. Smart076 is one (you can only get an 076 number, though), and there's at least another one that does 01-numbers without having to sign up for a bundle, but the name escapes me. A lot of people around here think Blueface exceeds sliced bread but you need to sign up for a bundle to get a number off them. That may or may not suit you.

Yes and the actual cost of powering a PC 24 hours a day is not a nice thing to behold (probably in the region of €100-200 per annum).

Get an ATA if thats an issue then.

A linksys PAP2 is a decent piece of kit.

That's because they do!:D For €100 I got a router and six months calls (Ireland unlimited). I also got a VOIP 076 number, along with a new local number.:D

Who does the 01 number without the bundle.

I vaguely recall seeing some complaints about them, like your number not showing up correctly when calling somebody. But that was a while ago and it doesn't sound like something that's difficult to fix. They are using Hosting365 so the connection to them should be a lot better than Blueface. In my case, I'm getting 15ms pings to them as opposed to 40ms+ with Blueface. I haven't used Broadtalk myself but I'd say they're worth checking out.

I'm with broadtalk and have no problems apart from a couple of days when it was jittery. I never knew they had a pay as you go option that gave a geographic number though. And i was looking for it too
While not great for the business line because its not 100% reliabe - it is good value for outgoing calls in the daytime.

Freespeech.ie give free geographic numbers if you sign up for their full-access - it's a one time payment so no montly bills just pay for your call costs.
