    Nonsense. Defeated? This requires you to download a file and to run it (and to give the admin password when it runs as far as I remember reading).

    This is a security update to try and hell people be less stupid. I forgot to check after the update but I heard it forces showing the .app extension on apps even with custom icons.

    HAHA!!! If you heard that every time Microsoft updated it's software, there'd be no more room left on the internet.
    Windows has that many updates they go unnoticed!
    So Apple has ONE major updated - it gets front page news...

    Further to that, go here: http://secunia.com/mac_os_x_command_execution_vulnerability_test/ and test out to see if you are vulnerable.
    Browsers other than Safari are probably safe; I recommend you either follow the advise in bedlam's link, or try out Firefox/Camino (yes, yes, I know you're all not Mac noobs!)
