    I've heard very good things about these guys, especially live. Touring Ireland in May after All Tomorrow's Parties:

    Tue 23: Belfast (venue TBA)
    Wed 24: Dublin Whelans
    Thu 25: Cork Connolys of Leap
    Fri 26: Galway Roisin Dubh

    Yes, they are amazing live. Saw them at ATP in 2004.

    That's in the middle of my finals, bugger! I really like these guys, would love to see them live. Don't they play from the middle of the audience? Or is that someone else I'm thinking of...

    Yes they are the band who play in the middle of the audience, saw them at ATP in 2004 too. They fairly get the crowd going but its all a bit too samey for me.

    Maybe if the concepts of 'melody' and 'rhythm' catch up with them, i'd go see them.

    Apparently tickets for this were meant to be onsale this weekend, but WAV box office knew nothing about the gig.

    Just becasue they don't go about it in the conventional way doesn't mean there's no melody or rhythm, in fact their songs have much more interesting rhythm than most stuff I've heard and cool abstract melodies. I love the drums.

    If you think it's all "just noise" you're an idiot, you could write their music out on sheet music if you wanted to, they are in fact very melodic and rhythmic.
