    Did anyone see this race?

Basically the rider of the leader Robbie Moran coming to the final furlong was being tracked by the leaders The Duck and Camdens Boy. As the two were closing, in an extremely delibirate manner the jockey steered the horse upon the two chasing horses. Both were hampered but in my view The Duck was definatly hampered more as he was in second at the time and Camdens Boy at least got out as he saw it happening. So The duck ends up thirs and leader is duly disqualified and race awarded to Camdens Boy.

Surely the duck would have been the winner had he not been shooved into the rails. And even tho he came in third he was the worthy winner?

    Opinions?

It was far from deliberate. The horse saw a gap in the railing and thought it was supposed to go there, if you watch the replay carefully, you can see the leading horse shotting off to it's left for the gap in the railing. I'm happy, I had the favourite which was given the win because of what happend.

The Duck couldn't have been awarded the race if that's what you're getting at as all that can happen is that the winner is disqualfied. One thing to note is that the horse will probably be able to race next time out off the same handicap next time out so if you reckon he would have won this race he could be a shoe in next time.

I didnt think The Duck would have won but for the interference. Stewards enquiry often mean the moral winner gets beaten, but not in this case.

Well either way about the duck it just seems that theres an obvious gap in the rules for an incident like this. I mean if he was travelling extremely well up the inside (i know he wasnt) and is then pushed into the rails and the third horse gets a clear run (i know he didnt either) then the moral winner could never get awarded the race cause only the leading horse will be disqualified.

    Dyou get me?

Yes. But That's racing. There is no way of proving the the eventual 2nd - who got a clear run in your hypothetical situation - wouldnt have beaten the eventual 3rd (who suffered interference) in any case. It happens.
