Ntl stated in their last bill than sky movies 9 would be off the air for a few days and a new station sky movies 10 would come along with it.

Both stations need pin numbers so presuambly they will be showing over 18 movies during the day.

However both stations were supposed to be up and running by feb 16th, its now into March and all they have up is a test card on one station and an ads on the other !

What the hell is going on ?

Well on satelitte, Sky Movies 9 and 10 will be the new High Definition channels which will carry movies in HD. I don't think NTL boxes are capable of displaying MPEG4 HD content, so unless NTL are planning to launch a HD service (they will, but probably not this year), then I guess you will lose Sky Movies 9 and 10.

I think anything over 12 or 15 before 9pm might need a PIN

Do these channels work for anyone yet? I switched to both of them and entered the PIN. But the channel is just blank. A blank black screen with no sound.

Any ideas? This is on NTL waterford though, and despite the fiber feeding the network, the digital services are unreliable. Some channels just never work, others work sometimes and not others and others again work but are always breaking up on occasion.

    Same here in Dublin City
About 2 am this morning the box went dead
rebooted and the on screen display said
it was up dating the STB

Both movie channels are now on Intermission,
till 6 pm. The EPG says that

"The Sky Movie channels are now showing more grown-up
films during the day. Movies with a certificate of 12 or 15
will be protected by a pin when screened before 5:00pm"

However as I said its in Intermission till 6:00pm.

In relation to channels not working or breaking up
I have noticed that these channels dont work right for
a few weeks, then "fix themselves" while the problem then
seems to move to other channels, which in turn, "fix themselves"
and so on. I dont think all my channels have ever worked all the time.
