1GB High speed Black Sony Pro Duo cards @ €89 in Zhivago Records in Galway. Seems a very decent price for an Original sony card.

I got a 1gb off ebay for 53 euro. 1 euro for card, 15 euro insurance, and 32 postage, LOL.
    They make their money somehow!

A link from a sticky over on the playstation forum.
How to spot a fake memory stick duo.

I've got one, plenty of others have too...good chance that some shops are selling them either on purpose or unwittingly.
They work and are good value for money but bear in mind if they go tits up, there is no warranty to cover them.

Trouble with eBay is you don't see the goods till they land on your doormat....in many cases MS's come from asia and even if you want to return a fake one, the seller will have clauses like not refunding postage (which is usually >50% of the actual item cost).

One thing about the fakes though...they have a slightly higher capacity lol....however the hell that works.

Actually read this : LOL now i am laughin at U!!! :

For the 1948mb newer version and 1959MB Fake version, all I have to say is good luck. although it is written 1959MB, the size actually cannot hold more than 1GB.. which is reported by a lot of people, so it means that it is the "cheat" which makes the software reads 1959MB.. while the card is only around 1GB.

    WARNING WARNING: RIP OFF DETECTED!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

Three months ago, the 2gb high speed in any european store or online retailer was ~€300
Less then 1/3 of the price certainly didn't seem like a rip off back then and still doesn't now.
Now if I'd have gotten one that only stored 1gb...that'd a been a rip off

Just to show how much of a rip off Ireland is, I saw these things on sale in a major music/dvd/games retailer (saturn) in Cologne for €49 at the start of January. Fairly depressing. I was considering buying a few of them to sell them on but didn't bother in the end because I'm extremely lazy.
