i find when it comes to tvs, you really have to see it working yourself before you can decide

    600 for a new one?

It won't matter much for your 360, but to protect the useability of your investment going forward, MAKE SURE that DVI input is HDCP compliant. I'm sure you'll eventually want to watch high def movies (blu-ray) on the screen, and it needs to be HDCP compliant to do that.

It may the case that all "HD Ready" TVs are HDCP compliant, in which case you can rest easy..but I don't know that for sure myself.

I know its Philips but 600 for a 23 inch is pretty steep. My mate who works in Currys reckons they have 27 inch ones for 799 or something.

This is buying it wholesale for that price, the RRP is 850 on it!

I wonder is it HDCP compliant?

    Can anyone answer that?

Says HD *Ready*,so it will display HD signals.

(the other one is HD Compatable which is a lower resolution)

Yeah, i'll vouch for it. I have the same one and I think it's pretty flawless. If you want to see it in action, MS are using the 23" version on their 360 demo stands.

ikol, i can vouch for that also - i have the 26" version and its Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y :D

Besides the Price and Image Contrast Ratio,

    Whats the main difference between

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=314485

    and

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=314484

Would it be noticeable and are both HD ready and Future Proofed??

    main differences are

    Samsung 23" LCD-TV LE-23R51B
    Image Contrast Ratio 3000:1
    1 x audio line-out
    1 x RF input

    Samsung 23" LCD-TV LE-23T51B
    Image Contrast Ratio 800:1
    0 x audio line-out
    0 x RF input

although both are seemingly missing HDMI inputs which I think are crucial for so called "future proof" tv's

Damn i knew it was too good to be true!!!

What should you look out for when buying them , Just HDMI inputs!!!

They have DVI that accepts HDCP which is the same connection just in a different shape. A cheap adapter and you can plug HDMI into it.

So would they be of the same quality?

you may want to make sure it supports 1080p too. 360 doesnt use it but ps3 will

Don't kid yourself, 1080p games are going to be rare and getting a 1080p capable TV is also unlikely in his price range.

    You'll need 4 ps3's, and a €10,000 tv to get 1080p in all ps3 games

and i read somewhere that sony might pull out of blue-ray? correct me if im wrong, im prolly completly off target, but either way 1080p games will be few, and far between.

i got myself that 32" samsung to excellent for 360 but not so good for watching tv but that will change when sky hd is out.i would definatly get a HD ready tv cause you can know the difference in most games like fifa 06.that philips one looks good but theres one in argos for 800euros and its 26" HD Ready and it has a stand to.
