That has happened on occasion. I think the main error is staff loading up the chutes at the back with the wrong denominations. You should have attempted another withdrawal...

ISTR the banks wrote off any losses due to ATM error although I'm open to correction.

Sure we're all only begrudgers for questioning the gargantuan profits made by the banking sector, according to Bass-Driving-Bertie in the Dail recently. Presumably the massive bail out given to A.I.B. in the Eighties to keep it solvent is still in his mind...

The "PC" Police on boards will "slate" you for that remark..This is dishonest, this is theft etc...:)

last i heard when this happend the bank had to write off the loss. think that was in south dublin somewhere, cost em over 100k if memory serves (although im open to correction) due to the fact it was severl machines and people emptied em before the jig was up:D think it was something to do with the bank being unable to prove when the machine started issueing the wrong notes (you know the way sometimes you get two twenties and a ten for 50 and sometimes just a fifty) so i reckon your off scott free:D

    have fun

If it get written off, I'm surprised the people loading the machine don't "make mistakes" more often and get their mates to come alonmg and make withdrawals.

never said what happen to the people who made the mistake :D methinks the words "que" and "dole" are in their future.
that said it wouldnt be much of a scam, i work in the financial sector. you'd be amazed whats going on in there that never makes the news

Do people in the financial sector actually get fired ?Whats the biggest "No No" in that sector ? Theft ? Inability to do job ? Not getting on with management ? Curious ? M

You were lucky, how come stuff like that never happens to me? When I put in my card to request cash I can hear hysterical laughing coming from the back of the ATM then it alarms, lights up and screams insufficient funds, embaressing if theres a queue so I have to make a big drama to pretend that I'm just topping up my fone credit so as not to loose face.
There was a skimming device fitted on one of the ATMs here in Wexford recently and apparently some poor unfortunates had their accounts cleared out, maybe I could go in and say thats what happened to me, nah, I'd be so racked with guilt that the next garda I'd meet I'd drop to his feet and confess all my sins. I'd sweat buckets, wouldn't be able to sleep for fear of getting caught, but I think you'll be alright with your extra €50, don't forget to buy a lotto ticket this weekend you could be on a roll and if you win, can you lend us a tenner for credit for my fone?:o

I heard a story before about an old woman who got extra when withdrawing from an ATM. She then put the extra money somewhere else to earn interest, and the bank took the money back and they got the interest she had earned:eek:
A dub left the country and went to Spain or somewhere after he had been given A LOT extra.
