    Hi all ,

Iv'e got 2 accounts running on a win xp pc, mine and my brothers, he set peerguardian to start with windows from his account with is a bit of a pain
cuz it blocks game related stuff and http stuff also.

Whin i log on i can see the process running with his username, i cant kill the process i have to use the recover peerguardion option to kill it,

I can log in with his account but still the same thing i have checked both accounts to make sure the option is disabled to run at start up, i have completely uninstalled it reinstalled ( brother uses it for p2p) and deleted directory, I have checked msconfig and startup folders on accounts but there is no mention of it anywhere in these places.

Can anyone offer some advise on howto fix this ?????

    open peerguardian
    settings
    next (in the bottom corner)
    untick "start with windows"

might help but sounds like something odd with yours

Try typing 'msconfig' in run, go to the startup tab, and unselect anything that has anything to do with peerguardian.

or try startup control panel, very handy control panel applet for managing startup items

tried 1st to thing mentioned above right off the bat as i said, angleofdeath i nabbed that app which is very usefull indeed - however peerguardian2 is not listed - which is weird as if its starting is sould be listed in one of those places

if it's not in the startmenu's startup folder, check out
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    in regedit.
Most entries go into the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, but PG for some reason prefers the former.
