I find the JamesBond theme tunes great background music for poker.

Singing along AlanPartridge-style to Goldfinger whilst on the bubble of an STT adds a certain something to the experience.

Try and source an Ennio Morricone compilation, preferably from Sergio Leone's westerns for which he composed the score. "Carillion" is the track with the music box playing, wonderful stuff. The score to "Conan the Barbarian" composed Basil Poledouris always creates an intersting atmosphere at home games too!!

I thought I was the only Ennio Morricone fan. I'm listening to him now. The cd is: 'Movie Classics: The Music of Ennio Morricone and Hugo Montenegro'. It has all the spaghetti western theme songs as well as a few others.

I usually go for a band called Enigma
No real Lyrics but some occasional Gregorian chants
    Quite soothing while occasionally upbeat

Lately i have mostly been listening to Ulrich Schnauss, Isaac Hayes and Gram Parsons while playing. Also a soul compilation called Mellow Mellow.

Tend to lean towards the more laidback stuff in my record collection.

    Martin Denny's stuff is great
i'll also agree with the Ennio Morricone and DJ Shadow comments
    David Holmes as well
and Mozart Piano Concerto K488 if i'm on tilt

I vary mine a bit, depending on what sort of mood i'm in, the usuals are, Neil Young, Death, Aslan Faction, Rory Gallagher (was at taste of rory last night in TBMC, great gig) and a bit of early ZZ Top aswell (first 3 albums)

Dont have a huge amount of mellow stuff on the PC, must go and find some and see how it goes.

I do quite like Morricone's soundtrack to Cinema Paradiso.

I actually have a "chill out" playlist that i tend to put on when playing poker to calm the nerves. Its made up of air, zero 7, royskopp, a couple of random dj's, bit of jazz and some classical thrown in for good measure
