audio problem help wanted

    as you can see from photo no audio controler installed can anyone tell me how i get the correct one?

    You'll need to know what the sound device is first. Do you have a PCI soundcard or is it integrated audio?

    I had a look on the Fujitsu Siemens web site and these (select audio then hit the arrow button) drivers matched for onboard audio for the d1420.
    Do you have any manuals that came with the machine, especially any motherboard manual? If not try one of the drivers in the link above.

    Fair enough. Then all I can suggest for the time being is to try the drivers in the link. Go for the first one (driver only).

    open up the case and see if you can find the audio chip on the motherboard.
    stick that into google and you might be able to find drivers for it that way

    would probably be something along the lines of AA1111 or say audio chipset on it
