Any know about Aldi's returns policy?

Bought a circular saw a few months (Oct) ago in Aldi for for a DIY Carpentry job. When I went to do the work (only last month - kept putting it off!) I just found that the saw seemed a bit too risky for a mere mortal such as myself. I have the receipt but as there is nothing wrong with the saw the store would not have to give me a refund or even store credit (which would suit me just as well).
Nothing on the website that I saw about their returns policy. Just wondering does anyone here know what it is?

    Cheers

    Brian

Aldi are excellent with returns, just drop in with your receipt (you don't even need a receipt, I didn't when returning a €1300 laptop:eek:) and say you don't feel safe using it, you've used others and have felt much safer etc etc. Although, I'm sure if they are going to be doing specials on power tools, since they will be selling thousands in their stores worldwide, they would probably put them through quality control paying great attention.

    Good luck:)

The only experience I have had with them was when I returned a DVD player after Christmas, and they were excellent about it. They have a one month returns policy, where you can return the item even if you just don't like it. Your situation is obviously a bit different but I'd give their head office a ring and check it out.

how do you get their HQ telephone number? i'm having terrible trouble trying to get a broken down mp3 player replaced - going on since november and am just being messed about. the only number i have is the Medion number 1800992508 which is the tech "support" (my ass) in the UK

Taken from their site FAQ section...
Why are Aldi stores not listed in the phone book?

The Store Manager or Area Manager handles all customer enquires, so the easiest way to contact them is by returning to the store. This way our service to customers is prompt and personal, ensuring complete satisfaction.

Sounds very dodgy to me, although I don't remember having any problems finding their number the last time. It might have been on the receipt.

You wont find an Aldi or Lidl store number anywhere, I've looked with no results:( You just have to ring head office, then ask them to contact your local store if you want. Probably just as easy to call out without ringing first, Im 95% certain they'll sort you out hassle free!

Have to disagree with you on that I have been trying to get an mp3 player replaced since the 14th of November! In my view that's having problems
