Who's willing to cough up?

For the Chelt. comp, who's willing to cough up, say about 10euro a head, to create a prizefund for the competition?
I imagine whatever form the payment will take will require a credit card, with paypal into a designated account before the start of the comp the fairest, perhaps...

    So what's the mood?

Also bank transfer is quite easy from account to account with any of the banks 24 hour facility.

the only problem with paypal is that you'll be charged a fee on your €10

Yea bank transfer is kool too, but it's not as instant is it, if say transfer from BOI to AIB?

Anyway I'm happy with whatever goes down, just think money would be good motivation, and also stop any fly-ins from stealing our thunder :D

Paypal fees do seem a bit steep alright...
Fees per transaction (EUR) 3.4% + €0.35 EUR

This is what I had in mind:

Later on today there will be a registration thread that will be open for the weekend (we're taking this years competition seriously dammit!), every one who registers will be checked to make sure they've contributed to the racing forum in some way before the talk of this competition. Upon closure of registrations there will be a draw to see who is paired against who...so for example we may have 20 names and one of the matches may be

    sjones V chump

Both players will agree on something small and decent to add up as a prize that they both agree on...it may be a small bet or anything they're both happy with.

As the tournament progresses their scores will be counted in the overall joint effort as well the private dual (so to speak). The league will take place as usual but the individual pairings just add an extra spice to things. For an overall prize I suggest a tournament bank account that someone might be able to use...it would probably be easier for everyone and paying the winner would be a lot easier then. Online banking helps this idea greatly. I'll send some pms about this later.

So, although there would be 2 prizes altogether, it is Cheltenham and I don't see that it should cost that much at all.

If you want you can text them to me on each day and I'll post them for you. Anyone who wants to do this can drop me a PM.

EDIT: All selections for any given day must be in before 1pm.

What are the plans for entry fee? I reckon €10 in the main competition and another €10 for the head to head would be fair. It might be worth getting a list of people's preferred payment method and what can be accepted. I could do PayPal, Neteller or Bank Transfer but understand not everybody will have each facility.

I just thought of another payment method as was thinking from experience bank transfer can be a pain... ie. you have to call up and register the account you want to transfer to (with BOI anyway)...

But anyway thought we could all buy, for example, a paddypower 10euro e-voucher, and then give all the codes to the winner and they can do one huge bet!

Can those e-bets just be added to your balance on your account or do they have to be redeemed in full against a bet.

If they could just be added to you balance then it sounds like a good idea. Paypal would still probably be the handiest, most if not everybody will have an account, It will only cost around .70 cent for a €10 transfer as far as I can see.

When all the monies are collected we should put it all on a 'dead cert' to plump up the pot
