Today (1st March) the Select Committe on Transport debated amendments to the Driver Testing and Standards Authority Bill 2004 which is planned to become the Road Safety Authority Bill 2006 (or something like that).

This new Authority will take over the roles which includes training, testing, standards, research, education and licensing. I'm hoping that it will be hugh step in the right direction.

The debate well likely be covered on Oireachtas Report tonight (RTE1 23:20) and the minutes will be available tomorrow morning or lunch time.
