Just wondering if anyone had a rough idea on cost (parts and labour) to network 16 pc's ? A combination of wired and wireless would be acceptable ?

    Any guidleine figures appreciated!!

Are you doing it yourself or looking for a price?

A friend is looking to get it done, could probably do it myself as a favour (I think), I now there is not much to it, but would not be willing to look after it afterwards if you know what I mean, if and when things go wrong (you know how people play with settings on pc's etc).

He has got a couple of prices, but they seem a bit stiff!!!

woudl you want these connected to a Server and domain, or just all on a peer to peer workgroup effort, Also what OS is on all the PC's??

PCI Ethernet cards roughtly cost € 30ish
PCI Wireless cards € 30 ish
    16 Port Switch €80ish
    Patch leads €2 ish each

Also have you got a patch panel in place or do you plane to run all cables directly back to switch??

Bear in the mind the max share connections on win xp machines is 10
