Can anyone recommend any good companys for travel insurance (1 week skiing in europe)?

Justcover.ie seem cheap but are they reputable?

    Thanks

If you are a member of a union Brassingtons do a good deal for annual insurance. http://www.arb.ie/travel.htm

Also do a search for Travel Insurance on this forum - there are a few relevant threads where people have asked the same and people have made recommendations - they might be a help to look up.

If you're a member of VHI you can get annual cover for €49

I usually use ACE. They're the cheapest. Don't know if they're any good as I've never claimed

I would second the poster above with regards to the VHI. They have great deals on annual multi-trip insurance.

VHI definatly. I dislocated my knee in Tenerife last summer and missed my flight home. The VHI paid for the private hospital bill €1200 for 1 night:eek: and they got me first class tickets from Tenerife to Barcelona and Barcelona to Dublin and they sorted out everything for me very quickly.

And 69 for a couple, but you need to ahve health insurance with them also. I think they charge extra for winter sports.

    Enjoy the skiing :)

Have you tried http://www.quoteline.ie/ usually pretty cheap for travel insurance

    As said above
    WWW.ACETRAVELINSURANCE.IE are very reasonable.
VHI year cover is good value.
Not sure about paying out as never claimed :o

If you want a good laugh, go to AIB.IE and into Travel insurance and then compare
    AIB prices against Ace insurance.
Guess who underwrites AIB travel insurance?

Wife works in travel insurance she says ....~Wife comes in takes over the keyboard!!~ .... The best one to go with is Accident and General's Fairsure policy. Be sure to purchase the upgraded policy as this will bring your excess to €0. Also, when on hols be sure to take the emergency helpline number of any insurance that you have as if you do not contact them and incur medical expenses over €500/€650 (depending on policy) they may limit it to this amount. Very good to know if you are going to the US where medical expenses can be quite high.

In addition, do not pack any valuables (i.e. jewelry, cameras, leather articles, etc.) in your checked-in luggage as they will not be covered at all.

You can usually get the Fairsure policy at most independent travel agencies, you may have to call around.
