    I just passed my test today- (I'll post details in relevant thread).
    Got home all excited and rang Carole Nash to see how much of a refund I'll get back with a full license.

    My initial premium, third party insurance was €2520. Premium is up in August.

    I get a wonderful €117 refund for having a full license.

    I'm 25.
    Fazer400 '98 Japan import. restricted (not that it matters to the insurance companies)
    First bike so no no claims bonus.

    So for full year premium that means I'm now paying €2286.

    bear in mind that you have been insured for 7 months

    5 months left= 117 euro

    -> 12 month discount = 280 euro ish + u will be older with 1 ncb @ renewal

    Aug 28th is renewal date so I was going with 6 months to go. And I'm over 25 now so can't see that making any difference.

    1 year ncb will be my only perk, hopefully will take off more than the license does.

    It looks like it's better to have experience than a license.

    were you over 25 when your current policy started?
    premiums drop significantly once you pass 25. but if you're in dublin then you'll just get loaded due to the increased likelyhood of an accident in traffic.
    When i got insured i got a quote for clare (where i live) and for a laugh for the same bike in dublin.
    26 yrs old, 1 yrs NCB, 00 SV650S, I pay 900 or so here, in dublin it would have been 2000+

    Hit 25 February of this year - presume that was taken into account on original quote, and living in Dublin.

    It's only a short commute across the countrys largest car park to work every morning and home in the evening though- it's not as if there's any traffic! ;)
