anyone got any views on these 2 speakers, theyre gonna be used for DJing. i Cant tell if theres too much difference but the mackie is that bit more pricey so wondering is it worth it as its a 12" where the JBL is a 15". the specs dont say too much to me but Im hoping someone else will read them and be able to say if which if any is better and why.
    cheers.

Forget about what other small PA speakers sound like. Especially forget what so-called "powered" speakers sound like. The active SRM450 is that different.

It has tight, steel-fisted bass to below 55Hz and detailed, articulate treble out to 20,000Hz. Midrange is warm, natural, and free from ear-fatiguing harshness. The SRM450 has astonishingly wide dispersion that lets your whole audience hear clearly, whether they're in the front, back, or way out on the sides of the room.

And above all, the SRM450 cranks! Without a hint of distortion, it effortlessly achieves sound pressure levels that would melt conventional speakers into a pile of molten slag.

Considered the dB audio Opera series? Excellent systems for the price. I'd say go for the 15" woofer becuase you'll need the low end for DJing without a sub

Agreed. I've heard the Mackie's can get a bit "harsh" in the high range when pushed so I'd choose the JBL's :D

ah nice one. An inspired choise for the JBLs. :D . Ive got best price of the eons from that site, nearly 200 cheaper delivered then thomann!! the mackies were about the same though, Id asked dolphin about the eons and he said sure but the mackies were much better but about 300e extra for the pair. Me foresees jbls in the house in the not too distant future.

Heard good things about these, and at that price who can complain? Anyway if it HAS to be either the JBL's or mackies i'd go for the JBL's. Really though, you need 15"ers
