    $25 online sst hand
I had a setback in level one so knocked back to approx 680 from 2000 starting stack. Tight table not enough hands yet to have meaningful info on particular players because generally the table save for DocFarrell(not in hand) was playing fairly tight so far.

Maybe not that interesting a hand but im posting because a player(not involved in the hand) questioned my move after i won the hand. In this situation and if im down to this amount of chips it would be pretty much second nature for me to push but because my move was questioned i thought 'maybe others might play it different!'. So i really want opinions and a general idea of how many agree or disagree with my play and who would play this hand the same way as i did every time or who might fold this hand because of the utg limper or just limp in?.

    2nd level 30/60

    UTG limps in
Everyone folds to me in the cut-off dealt 66. I go all in.

As it turned out sb called my bet and utg folded but this isnt relevant.

Marginally prefer a limp here, and hope the SB or Button completes. If I hit a set 4/5handed then I should be able to triple my chip count here.
If I miss the flop I still have 620 to push with next time.

Pushing here is going to walk into a big pair from UTG too much of the time.
Or a hand that he will want (and be able) to see all 5 cards with.
Having said that I'm sure that I do push here myself a lot of the time.

fold and wait for aces. then limp.

I really dont think limping it bad here.
You still have 11xBB so one limp is still possible before you are in classic 'push' territory.
Postflop you will be last to act in a 4way flop, or 2nd last to act in a 5way pot. (obv depending on no other pre-flop raises, and SB limping as well).

Because you are so short stacked you should be able to get very well paid off on a set (Bets of 120 flop, 180 turn, 320all-in river are almost certain to get at least 1 and maybe 2 callers).
OK, most of the time you have to throw post flop, but you are still 4 seats away from the blinds with 10xBB giving you some time to find another pushable hand.

Pushing either wins you the 150 chips so far in play (a decent result) or puts you in a 55/45 race (or quite possibly a 20/80 race with UTG).

You have a great chance to increase your stack by 20%, if you get called and you are 50 50 thats great as well, its not really 50 50 and there is plenty of dead money.

If you limp you cant call a raise and you are wasting precious chips on long shot bets.

nothing really wrong with the play, but your playing shortstack and if you get called in this position, you'll be up against a big pair or 2 overcards, so your only going to be 55:45 fav at best.

You dont have enough chips to raise, without going all-in.

I would have flat called and hope to hit trips, there's not enough in the pot to change your play after this hand, even do its 20% of your stack and if you miss, you can be sure to be behind after the flop.

So hitting is the key, miss and throw it away, or if you have position maybe than push if its check to you. Otherwise, wait for 2 face cards.

when did the other player hit is card? on the turn!, than you could have took it away after the flop.

I won the hand. The guy in the sb called with Ac10c that didnt hit and i doubled up. If sb didnt call i wanted the utg limper to call for a race and im sure he would have. He more than likely had overcards and not a better pair.Surely when your down to this much chips you've got to take your chances and push here to try to double up?. Its unlikely with 3 to get through before its back on utg that one of them had a decent pair.

Pushing here is going to walk into a big pair from UTG too much of the time.

Seeing this a lot lately, limp UTG with Big pp or AK .

Still an auto push though, you don't have the luxury of waiting for a better spot as ss. Any move you make will pot commit so push is fine.

The move was fine, but you could play the hand either way, it would be hard to play a pair of 66's after the flop and by getting the money in now, meant you had him commit, now did you cash....?
