Firewire running slow w/ SP2

I'm having an ongoing issue with my Firewire card running at Firewire100 for Firewire800 devices on PC. I can't run my Avid Mojo, or Firewire DV cameras.

I have tried about 6 fixes from all over the web for the last 3 months (including the MS patch for this 'known' issue, which did nothing), and re-installed Windows (even without SP2!!) about 5 times. This issue is on 3 PCs that used to work fine.

    Suggestions?

Not a solution but have you considered dumping the FW800 expansion card and use a FW400 one ?

I assume you followed the information from here as it seems a firmware update is required in some cases.

Did you try the alternate settings in Microsoft's SP2 hotfix ? (and installed it correctly you need to make several changes to the registry as well as dig out your device instance ID)

Tried all of those - even using an older firewire card I had at home - no luck. Still runs really slow.
