You really need to provide more information in terms of it's intented use, expected volumes of data, local/networked user access. What I'm saying it Access is fine for a small local databases to be kept on a single PC but if you are looking for a corporate solution used by many users with large data volumes then it is not at all suitable.

    Couldn't be worse.

The best attribute of Access is rapid development time. All other attributes vary from mediocre to poor.

If you need a once-off batch of data off a server asap, Access is the way to go. You can often throw a detailed query together, run it and get your data in under a minute.

If you want a GUI for the database where dozens of people will run the same report procedure several times each per day, Access is woefull.
