I see betfair is now letting EU customers lodge money through paypal.
(Just noticed it sorry if its a bit of old news)

    from betfair:
Betfair is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with PayPal to allow customers to use PayPal to fund their Betfair account.

PayPal (Europe) Ltd has updated its approach to gaming and Betfair is the first service to be approved under this new policy. As a result, Betfair customers in the EU will be able to make deposits and withdrawals via PayPal. Sending funds via PayPal is quick, simple and secure.

To use PayPal or to open a PayPal account, please select the PayPal logo from within the main deposit page when logged into your Betfair account and follow the instructions provided. Should you have any questions on how to fund your Betfair account via PayPal, please do not hesitate to contact the Helpdesk.

That could be very handy. PayPal have obviously seen the benefits of allowing gambling sites to use it.

as far as I know, they will be charging 4 or 5% comission, So it looks like the best way lodge is by using bank transfer.
