    This story is Apparrantly developing!!!

Rumour has it that discruntled Eircon emplyees within the building have complained to management about the lack of weather shielding in the building since the event, leaving employees exposed to the elements.

At first "Facilites" asked employees to ensure that the window frame is actually broken, because if the "customer/employee" has simply left the window open, they will have to pay a call out fee, and in any case it will take 4 working days to get someone out to check the window, "so we have till Thursday before we have to pay for an extra set of mittens according to our charter. In fact the Charter does not cover public disorder, so buy your own sodding mittens!!".

Eircon management also later dismissed the concerns saying that the entire building is 100% capable of being weather shielded, and that all window frames are capable of holding panes of glass!!!

Employee reps have replied that while all window frames may well be capable of holding glass and weather shielding those inside, there still remains a small pocket of the building which is now exposed to the elements since last Saturday.

Management have replied stating that "it simply is not economically feasible to ensure that all window frames within the building are actually holding glass, especially for such a small and insignificant area of the building concerned". Apparrantly the room houses the companies two customer care executives.

Employee reps are currently looking for an alternative "ISP" (Insulation and Sheilding Panel) Provider and are considering approaching government for funding. Rumour has it that one such "Clever" "ISP" provider is offering to provide stained glass windows with twice the view the old ones had.

    Negotiations Continue.

Maybe they should place a large parabolic shaped shield in front of them, apparently these types of shielding are every it as good as standard shielding.

A single sheet of plastic flapping noisily in the wind but covering the hole where the glass should be is known as a Functional Fenestrative Covering and is fully compliant with the Universal Fenestration Objective (UFO) set by Comreg.

Eircon Management have proposed an innovative solution to the problem. Facilities have identified a "Paired" window pane adjacant to the damaged one. They are proposing to "un-pair" this window and use the recovered pane to fill the vacant frame. Facilites have said that while "paired windows" (doubling glazing to those not technologically minded) are a very recent technological advancement in Ireland, there is no demand for such a techology and in any case, Eircons UFO only requires that they provide a functional window, which this solution will suffice.

Employee reps have complained that while the solution may well fulfill the UFO, there are buildings across the water which all have "paired" windows, so why cant we have one ?.

Management responded to this complaint saying that the buildings across the water are more densely populated so it is not a fair comparison to thier building. However, they did leave a sliver of hope for eventually upgrading to a "paired window pane", stating that if suffeceint demand was shown in the future they would of course provide a fully paired window pane.

When asked by employees what level of demand would be required, management set a figure of 300 requests before they would upgrade the wondow pane, and comitted to setting up a web site to register interest in the new technoloby of double glazing.

Employee reps have said that they are looking into how they can acheive the target of 300 requests among the 2 CC employees.
