They even changed her hair colour! And put on some make up!

A good illustration of not to believe everything you see in magazines, I guess..a lot of celebs don't look as good as their photos suggest (I guess particularly those that are...well...maturing!).

    Easy tigers!

I did this with photoshop. Not as impressive, but I think I made him somewhat more tolerant to look at.

Seriously, when I win the euromillions (after I start actually buying tickets) I'm going to pay for a full time photoshop artist to sit around reworking pics of me to make me look fabulous and deceive millions.

I'm so pleased I grew up in the day where there was no airbrushing.jeez it must be so difficult for young girls to feel good about their apperance when celebrities are airbrushed so freely and regularly these days

Me too... Obviously these guys are highly talented, but apartantly its not that difficult to do some basic work. Is anyone here any good at it and can you advise the best way to learn how to touch up your own photos?

    Get the shot/lighting right.

Google for tutorials on retouching/airbrushing or get a copy of Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers (Chapter 10, in particular.) They key is small / regional touches - don't alter too much in one go.

Time. Lots of time & experience - with photoshop & cameras

Never seen anything to beat the job done on Mary Lou for the Shinners IMO.

Am I the only one who thinks she looks unnatral and plasticy in the photoshopped one?

Forget about Madonna. Check out the miracle of airbrushing much closer to home. Pigheads all time favourite lady on boards most certainly scrubs up well after a touch (just a touch mind you) of airbrushing.

Isn't she 50 or so? She was obviously going to be a bit wrinkled.

50?? No way simu, Beruthials in her late 30's early 40's max. And they aren't wrinkles, they're quite obviously laughter lines.

Yes but by extension how can I now believe your post either? Perhaps you're a roving photoshop expert hell-bent on destroying the reputation of Madonna and gossip magazines in general by touching up a 'real' Mazzer photo and making her look old and wizened?

Oh I don't know who to trust anymore :(
