Date rape/Sterilizing drug

Hey, I got this in an email, and the only reason I am posting this on boards is because I had a very scary experience on saturday night, which involves me blanking everything from about 12pm until I woke up the following morning having no idea how I got there.
No I am not crying 'spike' because I honestly do not know if that was the case. I do know that I drank far less then usual (6 drinks in total), but I was surrounded by friends all night and didn't come to any harm.
Still, I felt the warning was worth its own thread, so take from it what you will.


"I know of 3 girls it happened to in BARCODE (in Dublin) in the last few weeks
so this is not a joke!!!! The morning after a night at a night-club a woman
was found, unable to remember any of the events of the evening, tests later
confirmed the worst fears, along with traces of Rohypnol (the date rape drug)
in her blood. But a new twist developed .....there were also traces of a
new drug Progesterex, which is essentially a small sterilization pill.

The drug is now being used by assailants as a 'safe sex' drug - it sterilizes
their victims. Progesterex is available to vets to sterilize large animals.
Rumour has it that Progesterex is being used together with Rohypnol, the
date rape drug. As with Rohypnol, all they have to do is drop it into the
girl's drink. The girl can't remember a thing the next morning, of all that
had taken place the night before. Progesterex, which dissolves in drinks
just as easily, is such that the victim doesn't conceive from the rape and
the rapist needn't worry about having a paternity test identifying him months
later.

The most awful thing is, the drug's effects ARE NOT TEMPORARY. They are P*E*R*M*A*N*E*N*T!
Progesterex was designed to sterilize horses. Any female who takes it WILL
NEVER BE ABLE TO CONCEIVE.

Anyone can buy this drug from anyone who is in the vet school or any university.
It's that easy, and Progesterex is about to break out big everywhere. Believe
it or not, there are even sites on the Internet telling people how to use
it.

Please COPY (NOT FORWARD) this to everyone you know, especially girls. Be
careful when you're out and don't leave your drink unattended.

Please make the effort to PASS this info on to all you know...

I get worried when I DO remember worried the barman spiked my booze, with water! They are called blackouts aka alcoholic amnesia and you better get used to them since you will get many now you are "broken in". 6 drinks is "far less than usual"? I can get in a blackout after only 5 and probably weigh twice what you do.

I think there was a report here a year or so ago from the rape crisis centre saying there has not been a single case of drugged rape ever recorded in Ireland (GHB, rohypnol etc) Of course 1000's of rapes are drug assisted using the ultimate date rape drug, often administered by the people themselves, alcohol....

Many doctors in the states are actively trying to get GHB relegalised, anybody who has ever taken it recreationally would laugh at the prospect of it being used as a date rape drug that could be slipped in a drink. It takes many grams for a recreational dose and it tastes foul. It would be similar to "slipping" 5 tablespoons of salt in a drink.

anyways the reason they always say PLEASE COPY AND SEND (DO NOT FORWARD) is so the original starter of the email wont get traced, whenever you see those words in any email you can be sure it is a hoax
